When cleverly used, modular design is just amazing. The 3XN Scandinavian architect agency has put this assumption to another level, and those towers are just one great examples.
The towers are dedicated to businesses and created to face the rapid development of the Copenhagen urban area. Each floor consists of elliptical floor plans creating elliptical balconies which shift position moving upwards. They are in fact stacks or layers put all together, just like dishes. If needed, new floors could be added quickly and won’t dash out the general shape of the building.
“The roundly shaped towers give way for a better view from each apartment, and reduce wind turbulence. Energy consumption is also minimized through the perfect balance between internal area and perimeter. The shifting of the balconies ensures a more direct experience of the sky above,” adds the company(via designspotter).
