CocolicoEach day, one green design.
Image for the article A Korean company developed paper batteries

At the digital era, there are still plenty of room for paper. Rocket, a tech company located in Korea, demonstrates its non-obsolescence. Developing a new kind of batteries: Paper battery.

The company in question said such batteries will “not include toxic chemicals nor cause explosion or fire.” No explosion is OK, and would cherish Dell or Sony which slapped some profit margins to recall their explosive laptop batteries. But fire is quite more questionable, and Rocket hasn’t detailed its innovation this way.

If this innovation hits the production stage (and we hope it will), are we going to use some highly recyclable thin paper batteries to power multimedia players or digital cameras? Not yet. Rocket’s main intention is to supply RFID tag (i.e. smart tag device), smart card, cosmetics and drug delivery system such like wrinkle care and moisturizing devices. We hope they would at least power cellphones, as modern telecoms are heavily relied on them.

Woah, comments! I think you guys need to advertise their existence a little more. I’ve been reading this site for ages and only just noticed - looks like the same is true of most other people as well.
