Recycling cans is good for the environment. We all know that, but it’s not the only way to do it. Carlos Alberto Montana Hoyos gives an example of what can tabs enable to create. The sitting of his lounge chair, suitable for indoor and outdoor purposes, has been made of 1739 aluminum can tabs. They are tied up to each other, and attached to a lightweight aluminum frame.
Carlos Hoyos designs with the similar intention as Alejandro Sarmiento. The later, based in Argentina, found a smart way to turn plastic bottles into looming strings. He could stop there but instead, decided to involve low-income South-American households in the process. Carlos Hoyos acts the same way, and plans to provide work to local population by selling his tin can chair. (picture: inhabitat)
