Sometimes, it doesn’t take long to see a wish come true. When we saw the Rinspeed all-plastic car concept, we hope they could “greener” plastic in some ways instead of classic petroleum-derived ones. Then, comes Hyundai which at the Geneva Auto Show, unveiled an intriguing concept car made from recycled plastics at 85%.

QarmaQ is a crossover utility vehicle that distinguishes itself from other models of the same car segment. Hyundai said it wanted to demonstrate the design freedom and practicality of using plastics in components traditionally manufactured from metal, glass, and thermosets (some of the hardest plastics to recycle). The result is that the car is lighter, that’s great, although the weight reduction isn’t that much — 60 kg, the weight of a female person for example.

But still, Hyundai’s concept car could open new ideas to its competitors to start creating the 100% recycled car. This is a new wish that we hope to see come true.
