If you use mobile solar panel, for instance in bags, consider this is your next generation of gear. Because it’s like putting solar panels in daily high-tech products. NTT DoCoMo, the biggest cellphone carrier in Japan, is developing a hybrid cellphone that can recharge itself with sun rays.

The process is classic. Solar panels are integrated in the back of cellphone; the output energy refuels batteries, keeping handsets in awaken mode for an endless time. Outdoor campers or travelers still can make phone calls even if they don’t have any power outlet at hand.

We just can’t wait to see those solar-powered cellphone commercialized, but NTT has no time schedule set so far.

Great idea, means u sit down somewhere in a sunny park and chat for hours without your battery running out.

Amy, you can do this and also sit under a tree to make phone calls. Solar cells can generate energy with refracted sunbeam. Isn’t that great?
