CocolicoEach day, one green design.

They used to be noisy ― not as loud as a U2’s concert but as disturbing as my refrigerator can be. They also freak birds out. Now that (might) change. Two guys from the London, UK-based XCO2 innovate in wind turbine with their QuietRevolution. They claims the buoyant design wind rod vibrates less than traditional wind turbines, generates up to from 5,000 kWh to 10,000 kWh if best situated, and lasts for 20 years.

XCO2, or nail me this fucking CO2 overdose ― other interpretation of their company name? ―, offers two different models. The regular QR: simple, white as milk, appropriate for most windy sites. And the gala version which shows a number of flashy blinking stroboscopic LEDs in the blades tailored for exhibitions, artwork displays or marketing purposes.

The first QR is supposed to be mounted in Bristol, south London, for a hi-tech art installation. “Depending on how successful it is, the revenues will be used to subsidize more wind turbines“, Julia Grove, XCO2 marketing director, said to Powerhouse. See you soon, guys.
