Here in France, there is this idiomatic expression: “Tout est bon dans le cochon” (roughly translated: everything’s good in pigs). Well, it could also be applied to bicycles, as some DIYers have showed. But when recycling comes to Graham Bergh, it’s something else.
His company Ressource Revival recycles every part of bicycles into home furnishing or gifts. From the bottle openers ― in fact, a flexible chain with a cog at one extremity ― to the coffee table made of freewheels and chainrings. Even everything comes from bike shops garbage, nothing is thrown away.
FLAT TIRE. The story behind the Ressource Revival creation sounds like an authentic legend. “The idea for Resource Revival sprung from my imagination in 1991 when I got a flat tire while biking to my recycling job. In 1994 I started shipping my first products from a corner of my bedroom. Today we are a team of artists, designers and customer service people recycling thousands of pounds of used parts and shipping to customers all over the world.“
Anyway, Ressource Revival seems to be a group of designers fueled by beautiful energy. Their catalog prices confirms this idea. Only for €238 for the coffee table or €10 for a bottle opener. Very reasonable price for stylish products. If you think they still are out of reach, just send them your old greasy chains and freewheels and will have a chance to win one of their wall clocks.
