“If you can hide it, then show it,” says a graphical designer adage. Fair enough would answer Chilean Rodrigo Alonso. He and his Musuc design agency proposed a simple yet nice idea to reuse e-waste: Melt them into a stool.
The N+ew (short for No more electronic waste) is functional object that could be a stool, a sculpture or an installation block. The project enlisted the help of technicians and professionals with expertise in metal smelting, counterfoil development and plastic resins. It gains the support of Recycla Chile, “the first and only company which recycles electronic waste in South America” according to Core77.
