How to build cheaper than the average and get a stylish ecofriendly house? Answer: Prefab dwells.

The media got the word. From Wired Magazine to the NY Times, architects like Michelle Kaufmann are getting pretty big press coverage. We decide to put our spotlight to another design agency, MDwellings, for their simple eco-contemporary project.

The building is savvy: Orientated along an East/West axis to advantage of the sun. Situated at the highest elevation of a place, avoiding floods eventually. Passive solar heating, active photovoltaic system that receives light three dimensionally. Wind cooling. Water pod to filter used water and harvest rain drops.

Wow. The list could be impressive on the paper. On the paper, the project also won the “House for an Ecologist” contest of the American Institute of Architects. But now, the most critical phase begins : Its construction, which should be located on Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
