For centuries, we rely on gold and jewel to foster our glamorousness and show off our health (Note that we cannot afford this assumption.) We took them as they are the most precious materials in the world. But we missed something. The nature is life, and life costs a lot more than kilos of stones, so our accessories should reflect the nature a lot more.
Easy deduction? OK. But this is what we thought when we looked at those jewelries. Wendy Plckard designed them, inspired some African cultures in which she found many wooden accessories. She has discovered that by working with the grain it is possible to accentuate the shape of each piece and enables her to create movement throughout her work.
The result is gorgeous. Her catalog, ‘The Branch’, has many more. And if we can afford them, we’ll buy one for each of you. But for now, we stick to some design tasks.
