The piece of furniture remains the same but not its decoration. In fact, there are all different. And because of this huge diversity, it turned out that the Zaishu become art pieces.
What are they? “Inspired by Japanese design, a Zaishu is a slot together, flat pack seat / table featuring unique artwork and prints,” says the web site. The project was launched with stenciled street artwork at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art in 2004, since then Zaishu has grown to become an international art project.
Zaishu is also an environmental project. It encourages users to use plantation grown wood veneer, water based inks and varnish.
